No Xenophobia Here: Zeno Clash II
Posted by Justin Richardson
It's not often, but every once in a while the universe heeds your inner wishes and bestows a desire that you weren't even aware of having. "Yes! Yes Yes!" you yell as if auditioning for an Herbal Essences commercial. This is what happened with me when I first saw the trailer for Zeno Clash II.
Playing through the original Zeno Clash was one of the most memorable single player experiences I've had in the last few years. It features surrealistic landscapes and creatures that felt dreamed up from the minds of children and madmen alike. The world is as if Leonardo da Vinci, Salvador Dali and Maurice Sendak all had a brain baby. A punchy brain baby with muscles.
It's a game that never made excuses for its world, and never gave you the answers on a silver platter. It was an enigmatic, memorable, beautiful world that I'd love to visit again. Not to mention the first person melee combat was probably the best I've ever had. And I've had a few.
The sequel, from what little we can so far see, appears to be sticking to the formula of mystifying, awe-inspiring, linear beat-the-hell-out-of-them-up (BTHOOTU), which hopefully offers as much value as its predecessor.
Hit the jump for the teaser trailer.
And the best news? They are introducing coop to the campaign. Good thing I was wearing adult diapers when I heard this. (I wear them a lot now. I'm easily startled. I think I'm related to the fainting goats) Thanks and best of luck to Chilean developer ACE Team. We'd love to see Zeno Clash II sooner than later!
There is no announce date yet, but Zeno Clash II will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
